Projects

Our work is divided between communities who live on the borders of Protected Areas and communities who live near non-protected community forests. The overarching mission of all our work is to collaborate with local and indigenous communities living around the Kahuzi-Biega National Park (KBNP) and its adjacent community forests for the long-term preservation of their natural resources through sustainable development projects.

We run several projects that support our mission, including:

  • Agro-Forestry and Reforestation
  • Artisan Cooperatives
  • Bee-Keeping
  • Community Forest Conservation Cooridor
  • Environmental Education
  • Health and Conservation Programs
  • National Institute of Primatology (in development)
  • Pygmy Land Project
  • Retraining Miners Program
  • Pilot Project of a Baboon Home Range Restoration
