Our work is divided between communities who live on the borders of Protected Areas and communities who live near non-protected community forests. The overarching mission of all our work is to collaborate with local and indigenous communities living around the Kahuzi-Biega National Park (KBNP) and its adjacent community forests for the long-term preservation of their natural resources through sustainable development projects.
We run several projects that support our mission, including:
- Agro-Forestry and Reforestation
- Artisan Cooperatives
- Bee-Keeping
- Community Forest Conservation Cooridor
- Environmental Education
- Health and Conservation Programs
- National Institute of Primatology (in development)
- Pygmy Land Project
- Retraining Miners Program
- Pilot Project of a Baboon Home Range Restoration
